WIKI
Introduction:-
          A wiki is a website on which users collaboratively modify content and structure directly from the web browser. Wikis were increasingly adopted in enterprise as collaborative software. Common uses included project communication, intranets, and documentations, initially for technical users. Some companies use wikis has their only collaborative software and has a replacement for static intranets, and some schools and universities use wikis to enhance group learning. There may be greater use of wikis behind firewalls than on the public internet. On march 15, 2007 the word wiki was listed in the online oxford English dictionary.
·        The inventor first developer of wiki software is ‘Ward Cuningham’ in 1994
·        In this users allows to add and update content on the site using their own web browser.
·        Wiki runs using a wiki software.
·        The greater example of a wiki based website is Wikipedia.
·        Wikipedia is the online encyclopedia project and it is the one of the most widely visited site in the world, having been ranked in the top ten since 2007.
·        Wiki is a Hawaiian word which means ‘ quick or super fast’
Nature of wiki:-
·        Wiki is a collaborative work space in which information can be gathered, shared, organized or  used to produce something new.
·        Wikipedia is a collection of hundreds of wikis with each one pertaining to a specific language.
·        It is available in many language.
·        Wikis functions as a knowledge management resource, note taking tools, community and intranets.
Wiki in education:-
·        like other tools (content management systems, weblogs) are being used by educators as effective teaching and learning tools.
·        It is a open educational resources.
·        Growing collective notes like seminars and leatures.
·        It is the sum of all human knowledge.
·        It is available in many language.
·        It is bigger than the collections of all liabraries.
Characteristics of wiki:-
·        A wiki invites all users to edit any page or to create new pages within the wiki website.
·        Wiki promotes meaningful topic associations between different pages by making page link.
·        Wiki involves editing, navigation, linking and creating pages.
·        Wiki is a great collaborative platform for many of the students and educators involved in a learning process.
·        It turns students into experts.
·        Students and educators can share their presentations using wikis.
·        It provides instantaneous information to students.
·        The official  website of Wikipedia is www.wikipedia.com.
·        Wiki enables communities of editors and contributors to write documents collaboratively. All that people required to contribute is a computer, internet access, a web browser, a basic understanding of simple markup language ( eg: HTML).
Advantages of wiki:-
·        Anyone can edit.
·        Easy to use and learn.
·        Wikis are instantaneous there is no need to wait for a publisher to create a new edition update information.
·         A wiki can be thought of as a combination of a website and a word document.
·        Widens access to the power of web publishing to non technical users.
·        The important element of a wiki is its ability to keep track of the history of a document as it is revised.
·        Most of the wiki hosting platforms are free, so one can use needful wiki without pay.
·        It is available in many language.
·        We get some simplified definations to complex terms.
·        To create or to edit wikis there is no need to learn coding languages.
·        We can access the wikis from anywhere with an internet collection.
·        It connects multiple resources.
Disadvantages of wiki:-
·        Wikis are not secure.
·        Requires internet facility.
·        Anyone can edit it is so that data cannot be verified.
·        Information presented not thoroughly precise or valued.
·        If it is not managed correctly, we can spam it easily.
·        It can be easily hacked.
·        Disorganized information.
·        It is not the direct outcome of research and usually not based on publications of those either. 
·        Wikipedia articles cannot be considered scholarly, because we know nothing about the contributors.
·        some articles are written from the insiders view, with highly technical language, while some are written for a more general audience.

Conclusion:-
        As this seminar demonstrates, more research should be done to help to learn effectively treat the negative side effect of obesity. And make use of it in good way.
